Axwell & Ingrosso emerge as EDM group

Two former members of the EDM trio Swedish House Mafia are joining forces!!!

From left: Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, & Steve Angello

Swedish House Mafia was officially formed in late 2008 and played their last show together on March 24, 2013 at Ultra Music Festival in Miami, Florida.

However, their exit was not a surprise to anyone because they announced to fans that they were embarking on a tour called “One Last Tour” which kicked off in November 2012 and concluded in March 2013…with additional shows added due to high demand.

The 3 DJ’s ended their 5 year global electronic dance music (EDM) domination with a bang and I’m sure their diehard fans couldn’t be upset by that! 😀

And you can even view their last moments together as an EDM group in their movie “Leave the World Behind”:

It was just announced Thursday on BBC Radio 1 hosted by Zane Lowe that Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso will release their first-ever album together!

Zane was invited in the studio with Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso who will be known by “Axwell /\ Ingrosso” to listen to tracks from their new album and he describes it as “incredible”.

He started off the intro to his BBC radio show by playing the song he was approved to play by Axwell /\ Ingrosso: “We Come We Rave We Love”.

Listen to that song here VIA SoundCloud:

Axwell /\ Ingrosso decided to “clean out the closet” before any new music came out and they gave the track away on their SoundCloud:

>>> <<<

You can download the track for your iPod or whatever you listen to music with 🙂

It seems like the majority of the record is completed and that Axwell /\ Ingrosso might drop their album before 2014 ends!!!

According the the newly formed Axwell /\ Ingrosso Facebook page…this is what the duo’s symbol will look like:

10176157_677620742308783_8667836291293926644_nLooks like a gunmetal capital A without the crossbar 🙂

Axwell and Ingrosso did a merger of their Facebook artist pages to form one page which has never been done before!! This is going to erase each page’s content and begin a new journey of content for the duo!

Check it out here:

Their first appearance together will be next Sunday, June 8th at the Governors Ball in New York and here’s the full festival lineup:

Governors-Ball-2014-Lineup-2-718x400I see Outkast too!!! 😀

Phil Collins makes a special appearance

Phil Collins…remember him? Singer/Drummer for the rock band Genesis & solo artist?

Oh yeah! THAT guy! (He’s on the left) LOL 😀

So it just so happens that Phil Collins made his first performance since he announced his retirement in 2011 and he hasn’t performed in public since 2010!

This performance was last week at Miami Country Day School in Miami, Florida where his two sons attend middle school!

miami_country_day_schoolLooks like one heck of a middle school!

Phil performed two of his biggest hits with the middle school band! 🙂

Mr. Collins gave a performance of 2 songs: “In the Air Tonight” and “Land of Confusion”.

Before the show, Phil said: “I was nervous you know. I’ve been doing this all my life but how good can it be? How good can it be tonight? All of these kids came up to me yesterday and were very pleasant and nice and polite and made me feel like part of the band.”

Screen Shot 2014-05-30 at 1.24.16 PM#StageFrightIsReal

Without further ado…here is Phil’s first live performance in 4 years:

He did a lovely job and the band sounded great! 🙂

I guess I got so lost in the music news shuffle that I didn’t know that Phil Collins retired, yet he did it in order to be a full-time dad. I have no complaints now that I know his reason 😀

And apparently he agreed to perform only because one of his sons asked him…so we all have his son to thank! HAHA

Since I’m so young…I wasn’t introduced to Phil Collins until I watched a movie called Tarzan from my friends at Disney. Phil was in charge of the soundtrack and did and amazing job.

Listen to “You’ll Be In My Heart” here:

Now I want to watch Tarzan! HAHAHAHA

Phil’s return to the stage came just days before Steve Perry of Journey performed for the first time in two decades!!! And surprisingly he sounded very, very good!!!

Check it out:

Thank you Phil for the long-awaited performance and whenever you want to come out of retirement…WE’RE READY!!!

Lady Gaga postpones shows due to illness

It’s happening again! Another artist is getting sick from too much touring! 😦

Lady Gaga is coming down with the Art Pop flu!

Her concerts in Seattle on Wednesday and in Vancouver on Friday have been postponed!

But why?!

Well it just so happens that Lady Gaga has come down with “severe bronchitis”.

And the zany Lady tweeted about Ariel losing her voice to confirm:

How hilarious is that?! HAHA Everyone loves a good Disney movie! 😀

And to follow up the Ursula joke, she posted this sincere apology:

#sadgaga lol 🙂

Lady G’s next show is not until Monday in San Diego so hopefully she will just need the rest of this week to recover! If not…she will come back and knowing how much she loves her fans…she will keep true to her word!

And just to mention something completely unrelated…you may want to go watch every video of Lady Gaga’s new dog “Asia” on Instagram! She’s SO adorable! Gaga calls her a “bat-pig” but really she’s a black French bulldog! LOL 😀

Asia Gaga dogYou’re welcome!

Here’s her Instagram for yah:

It’s not a surprise of how many artists get sick on the road. When you have to sing for an hour & 1/2 or more almost every single night…your vocal chords will get tired! I can’t blame Lady Gaga for that, but I know she will be back! 😀

Sam Smith announces US Tour!

This news has me jumping out of my seat just like I would be after 50 Cent’s first pitch

Although both of these events (50 Cent’s horrendous first pitch at the Mets game and Sam Smith’s US tour announcement) happened yesterday, of course I was cheering for Sam instead of 50!

Sam Smith is a great friend to Music Row Girl after all the man was featured on a Discover blog! 🙂 Sam is controversial popstar Lily Allen’s cousin…if you can believe that or not and HIS VOICE IS RIDICULOUSLY AMAZING!

Check out that discover blog for all about SS:

His voice is what people notice most about him because it’s like hearing a male angel sing!!!

Saturday Night Live - Season 39You have to love this guy! #SoTalented

Sam has this new song out AKA a single called “Stay With Me” and I’m not sure those words ever sounded more convincing! Take a listen here:

I first heard Sam’s voice when I didn’t even know it was him singing on a song called “Latch” by the electronic music duo Disclosure. Take a listen to it while you keep reading:

And I won’t forget to say that Sam turned 22 on May 19th so I’ll go ahead and wish him a belated Happy Birthday from his friend Music Row Girl 😀

Not to mention that Sam has the coolest hairdo I’ve ever seen on a guy:

Screen Shot 2014-05-28 at 5.34.38 PM

It’s like a never ending widow’s peak! 😀

And nobody forget that Sam’s debut solo album “In The Lonely Hour” comes out on June 17th here in the US! You can pre-order it on iTunes already of course!!

So it was just announced yesterday that Sam with be going on a formal US tour!!! I literally thought my eyes were going to explode when I read “Sam Smith at The Ryman” so I decided to take to Instagram today to post about it:

Screen Shot 2014-05-28 at 5.20.53 PMCaption: Excuse me while I jump for joy! Sam Smith. The Ryman. Tuesday. October 7th. I’ll be there. #SamSmith #Latch #LaLaLa #Disclosure #UK #Ryman #Nashville #livemusic #October #fangirling #freakout #bestnews

So October 7th it is! I couldn’t be more excited! You have no idea!!! 😀

I really hope that I’m not the only excited American to see this UK import! HAHA

Please PLEASE go see Sam! Your life will be changed and you’ll thank me later! 😉

Big Machine adds ‘Nash Icons’ to their roster

Big Machine Label Group (Nashville’s finest record label) has teamed up with Cumulus Media to create a country music record label & live events business known as “Nash Icons”.

Screen Shot 2014-05-27 at 7.26.35 PMThe new Nashville dream team!

Scott Borchetta (Big Machine president/CEO) is on the hunt for big country stars to sign and word on the street is…he’s looking at Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, Shania Twain, and the next comeback king: Garth Brooks!

Screen Shot 2014-05-27 at 7.41.25 PMFaith, Alan, Shania, & Garth are a great place to start! 😀

I’m going to freak out if Garth Brooks gets back on the radio! That man was my music hero growing up! I broke many a plastic guitar string as a kid jamming out with Mr. Brooks!

Lew Dickey (Cumulus CEO) said: “I would look for Scott to make an announcement in the next 30 days.”

Lew went on to say: “It’s not that 35 to 54 year olds don’t like the hits. They just miss the biggest country artists of the last two decades, who are still recording and touring but not getting enough exposure today.”

I guess I can understand what he’s saying. Country is ruled by Taylor Swift, Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood, and Hunter Hayes.

Taylor Swift is of course the most known artist signed to Big Machine! Not to mention the top earner in music for the 2013 fiscal year. ($39,699,575.60)

And I hear a Nash Icons tour is in the works for next summer! Now don’t get me wrong, but is Scott trying to turn Nashville into Las Vegas with performances from legacy acts?!

thumbnail_34131I think he’s a genius! 😀

Country music fans are the most loyal fans in the whole wide world and I’m positive that the response to a resurgence of legendary country acts is something that would be very successful!

I know Scott is tight-lipped right now but Lew from Cumulus is spilling the beans! I can’t blame him! This is great news for Big Machine and for country music!

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis are in the studio!

Macklemore and Ryan Lewis are back in the studio working on their second album!

Macklemore-Ryan-Lewis-02 2

They’re the coolest guys in music!

Macklemore & Ryan are currently working on their second album since their debut:

The_Heist_MacklemoreThis is the first leather album cover design I’ve ever seen! HAHA

The Heist came out a long time ago if you can believe it!! October 9th, 2012 to be exact! So now we are looking at 1 year and 7 & 1/2 months of wait time!!!

Ryan Lewis is reportedly telling fans to “prepare to wait a long while as the group are taking their time.” 😦

The diehard fans that purchased The Heist 1 year and 7 & 1/2 months ago are not going to want to wait another 6 months to a year (or more) for a new album from the dynamic duo…but I guess they have no choice!!

Artists that are unsigned to a record label…much like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis…are the ones who call the shots on what their sound is going to be and how much time they spend on an album before it is released to their fans.

macklemore-ryanlewis1But these boys haven’t just been hanging out in their crazy clothes…

…according to Ryan, they have been nothing but busy! He had this to say about their time spent in the studio: “I love DJing and traveling, but after playing well over 300 shows in a year and a half, it’s nice to be back, trying to make songs.”

Over 300 shows in a year & 1/2?! WOW! Okay! I guess we have no choice but to wait for their sophomore album since they have been on the road practically since The Heist dropped in October 2012!

macklemore_world_tour_390_268Coolest tour promo photo ever! 😀

Ryan is saying that there will be a lot of changes but he is sure that fans “will appreciate how they have grown in terms of their sound.”

To be an independent artist like Macklemore & Ryan Lewis (his producer) that is “unsigned” AKA is not being represented by a major record label is a tough job, but they have excelled with flying colors!

The pair has won four Grammy Awards including: Best New Artist, Best Rap Album (The Heist), Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance (“Thrift Shop”).

Macklemore & Ryan’s debut single: “Thrift Shop” went all the way to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2013 and it was the first time since 1994 that a song reached #1 on the Hot 100 chart without the support of a major record label!

I remember seeing the music video for “Thrift Shop” on Palladia for my very first introduction to the duo and thinking to myself…are these guys serious?? This is crazy!!! HAHAHAHA 😀

Their second single “Can’t Hold Us” also made it to #1 of the Hot 100 and their fourth single “Same Love” (featuring Mary Lambert) caused global attention for the duo 🙂

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis have big shoes to fill because The Heist was a massively successful album, yet I’m sure that they are ready to slay the charts again with #1 hits!

Discover: The Gallery

There’s a new, noteworthy band that I discovered on Twitter and need to share with you:

They are called “The Gallery” and Man, are they good!

The Gallery = Brendan Cooney, Ben Lozano, Ryan Cooney, and Dave Mozdzanowski

If you guessed that Brendan and Ryan are brothers…you would be 100% right! 😀

I discovered them on Twitter like I mentioned before and I was really in disbelief at how amazing their sound was and how I had lived without them before in my crazy, musical life!

The boys are from the New England area…most specifically: Wilbraham and Agawam.

Screen Shot 2014-05-25 at 10.58.27 AMOnly 26 minutes away from each other! 😀

The Gallery’s sound is much like pop rock with an indie twist and they sound authentic and commercial at the same time!

Brendan Cooney provides lead vocals & guitar while his brother Ryan is the drummer of the band. Dave Mozdzanowski plays bass & provides background vocals while Ben Lozano plays lead guitar.

The Gallery has a fan base in the New England area and they have built a similar following in my beloved place of origin: Southern Florida…because the boys lived there for 3 years!

floridaFlorida = Magic

In 2009, the boys went on the road for 50 tour dates in 25 different states and since then, their fanbase has grown across the US. They play shows in Florida, Washington, California, and Massachusetts…to name a few!! 😀

Let me go ahead and give you a sample of what they can do:

Just a few weeks ago the boys announced they would be going on tour this fall and I tweeted them to come to Nashville and they said they were!!! #YES

Tour dates:

There are several tour dates across the country and The Gallery will be playing Nashville’s own Exit/In on August 20th with Honor By August.

The famous Exit/In: Who’s played here? wall! 🙂

And let me just share another song with you too! Check out “Restless Soul”:

I love Brendan’s voice so much! #ICantTakeIt lol 😀

Their full-length album “Restless” came out on February 26, 2013:

iTunes, Spotify, whatever you do…get a copy! 🙂

Check out their website: & scroll down for more info!!!

I hope everyone does their best to make it out to see The Gallery! They ROCK!!!
