Simon Cowell is bringing Betty Boop back!

Simon Cowell is one of the many titans in the music industry and now he’s attempting to…

…bring Betty Boop back to life!

Now I know what you’re thinking…BETTY BOOP?! Yes, you heard right! Simon is well-known as a judge, music critic, and record exec, but what many people don’t know is that he has a playful side too!

In the past, Simon produced the TV show and soundtrack for the “Teletubbies”!

I saw that show a few times flipping through the channels and I came away disturbed!

So it’s needless to say that Simon does indeed have a heart and loves him some animated and not so animated cartoons!

Syco Entertainment (Simon’s company) is teaming up with Australian production house Animal Logic (geniuses behind “Lego Movie”) to bring Betty Boop back to the theaters!

This will be Betty’s first music-driven, animated comedy in her over 80 year career!

Good for you, girl!!!

Betty Boop first appeared on the silver screen in 1930 in “Talkartoons”. From there she gained her own cartoon series and her last appearance in a movie was a cameo in 1988’s “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”.

In a public statement, Simon said: “Betty is an icon, and one of the biggest stars in the world – I’m thrilled to be working with her. Betty, I’ve worked with some serious divas, but I think you could be the biggest of them all.”

Simon is crazy enough to talk to animated characters and I love that about him! Betty Boop is certainly iconic and to me she has more credibility than the Teletubbies 😉

Good luck Simon on working with Betty and I hope to see you back in a judge’s chair soon!
