I’ve been hearing now for weeks, practically months, that The Rolling Stones…
…were going to announce US tour dates and now they finally have!
I’ve never been a crazy Stones fan or anything, but I feel as though I owe some kind of allegiance to the band for making me interested in music since my mother attended one of their concerts when she was 8 months pregnant with me in 1990! She will kill me for saying that, but I can’t write about this band and not somehow mention that they were the first band I’ve ever seen…technically! 😀
So it’s FINALLY and I mean finally out in the open now that The Rolling Stones are going on a North American stadium tour this year! I’ve been waiting on that news to break for what seems like all year long! HAHA
So much to my surprise the tour is only going to be 15 dates long from May 24th – July 15th, but I guess when you’re the Stones you can just hit the highlights and know that your fans will travel from all over the US and the world to see you anyways! 🙂

I kept hearing from a lot of people this year that The Rolling Stones were going to come here this year and play LP Field and lookey-here! They are coming to Nashville and they are playing at LP Field! HAHA I guess this proves that Music Row Girl’s sources are quite reliable!
The tour kicks off in San Diego on May 24th as you can see and then they end in Canada at Le Festival D’Été de Québec on July 15th!
The tour was just officially announced today and the cities they have chosen were calculative since they’re all major markets that the band visited in 2012 on their 50th Anniversary tour!
Tickets go on sale Monday, April 13th although if you’re an American Express cardholder, you can start buying your tickets on Wednesday, April 8th!
The Stones frontman Mick Jagger had this to say about their upcoming tour: “We are excited to be back in North America playing stadiums this summer! We are looking forward to being back on stage and playing your favorite songs.”
The Stones guitarist Keith Richards (who literally wrote the guitar riff for “Satisfaction” in his sleep) said: “We love being out on the road and it is great to come back to North America! I can’t wait to get back on the stage!”
I like how dedicated they are to playing shows for their fans and for those who are curious like me…I remember my Music Publishing professor telling our class a story about how often times songwriters will keep a pad of paper and/or a tape recorder on their nightstand so if they dreamt about a lyric or a chord progression, they could jot it down. Well, Keith Richards practiced this! He just so happened to have been drunk one night so he had no recollection of doing it but when he pressed play on his tape recorder when he woke up the next day: he heard the riff for “Satisfaction” (the Stones most notorious song)! So yeah…he wrote it in his sleep! HAHA Now THAT’S what I call talent, people!
Stones tickets are SO expensive! Definitely more expensive than when my mom and I went to see them in 1990, so I’m not sure if I can go see them again…but to all those who can…get out there and go!
Congratulations to the Stones on your new tour & best of luck in 2015!
