It’s hard to believe that South by Southwest 2015 is already upon us…
…and I wanted to give you my top 5 acts to go see this weekend!
As I’m sure you can tell, SXSW takes place in March in Austin, Texas and every single 10 day long festival there is EPIC and UNFORGETTABLE!
I still have yet to attend SXSW, but I’m excited to do so when the time is right 😀
Thanks to amazing festival organizers, the lineup is always power-packed and never ever disappoints the thousands upon thousands of attendees!
I wanted to highlight the Top 5 acts I think you should run and go see:
1. Jess Glynne
Friday, March 20th: 7:50PM – 8:10PM @ Stubb’s
If you’re looking for an incredible singer to go see tonight…go see Jess Glynne! I guarantee you’ve heard her before as she’s sung the vocals for hit Clean Bandit song “Rather Be” and also a new release with Clean Bandit called “Real Love”. She’s the vocalist on those songs and everyone loves her voice apparently or else those songs would have never gotten as popular as they are today! HAHA Go check her out and report back to me on Twitter! [@musicrowgirl]
2. The Ting Tings
Friday, March 20th: 9:30PM – 10:10PM @ Stubb’s
You might just want to stay in Stubb’s all night tonight! HAHA It’s been a long while since The Ting Tings were on top of the indie pop music scene…2007-2008 to be exact when they dominated that world with “Shut Up and Let Me Go” and “That’s Not My Name”. Don’t count them out just yet!! I’ve been hearing a lot of little rumors of them coming back strong and I’m very excited for it!
3. Tove Lo
Saturday, March 21st: 11:50PM – 12:15AM @ Austin Music Hall
I cannot even tell you how much I have promoted Tove Lo! HAHA She’s was my favorite singer-songwriter of 2014 and I simply adored her music…and I still do!! Tove is going to be performing pretty late tomorrow night, but I don’t care if you need an energy drink or an afternoon nap to make it to her show…just go to it! 😀 I’m so jealous and I cannot tell you how happy you’ll be after listening to her incredible songwriting prowess unfold before your ears…you’ll also want to be her best friend because she loves to engage the audience!! It’s a win-win!
Friday, March 20th: 7:50PM – 7:55PM @ Gypsy Lounge
After years of being the tour DJ for Kanye West, A-Trak is on his own now and has been making some serious airwaves in music lately! Most notably for his song that made it on a Super Bowl commercial: “Out the Speakers”. That song was of course featured in the wildly hilarious commercial for Mountain Dew where the dog and the deer danced along too! HAHA I’m really proud of A-Trak for getting his name heard and I think you should go see him!
5. Sam Pinkerton
Saturday, March 21st: 11:00PM – 11:40PM @ 18th Floor at Hilton Garden Inn
I have to mention Sam because we actually went to Belmont for school at the same time together! She’s been establishing herself as a songwriter in Nashville and Belmont shaped her career in the music industry just like it did for me! 😀 I’m sure it must be thoroughly exciting and an honor to play SXSW and I’d love for anyone to go out and support Sam! She has a gorgeous voice and her music is very lovely!
So there you have it folks! Tweet me all you want & enjoy the music!
