Pregame music: Mayweather vs. Pacquiao

I do love some great music while I workout, but what about when…

…you’re about to compete? What do YOU listen to?

Yes I am promoting the Mayweather & Pacquiao fight because #1 IT’S TONIGHT and #2 I recently took up boxing and I absolutely looove it!!!

So I know people are often curious as to what kinda music their favorite pitcher on the Yankees listen to before the game or what kinda music their favorite NFL running back listens to before the game…but what about boxers?

Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather

I’ve been seeing these playlists in the news and I wanted to delve into why I like or dislike their choice of pregame *ahem* prefight music 😀

Mayweather’s playlist includes James Brown, Akon, Rihanna, Phil Collins, Lionel Richie, and Stevie Wonder. Just do me a favor and see his full playlist right here on Spotify: [].

The thing I don’t like about Floyd’s playlist is how many different dynamic changes there are! For me, when I box I need to listen to nothing but hip hop! I don’t know what it is, but I need a steady beat and some hard-hitting rhymes. Now granted I love the James Brown song “I Feel Good”, but I don’t want to hear that when I hit the crap out of a punching bag HAHA I need intensity however I can appreciate that Floyd has a wide variety of taste in music!

Pacquiao’s playlist includes Ashanti, “Eye of the Tiger”, Maroon 5, Ed Sheeran, and The Black Keys. See his full playlist right here that he published on Spotify: [].

Just for old times’ sake, let’s go for it:

Now here I am again saying “Where’s the intensity?!” We’re not going rowing here on the Thames River! We’re going to try and whip Floyd Mayweather on pay-per-view in Vegas! I’m telling you guys what, I could not listen to “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran and be able to fight someone/a punching bag at the same time! It’s just not happening 😀

I do think it’s rad that he has “Eye of the Tiger” on his playlist though! HAHA That is adorable to me!!!

So if you must know I’m part of TMT (The Money Team) so I will be rooting for Floyd “Money” Mayweather tonight as I watch the fight in a local bar downtown!

From what I’ve heard, the cheapest tickets to the fight were $7,500 but now they have dropped to $2,900 today on StubHub. Basically all I’m trying to say is if I won 3 grand in Vegas today…I’d be going to the fight tonight!

Best of luck Floyd! Go on and make me proud!!!
