Carrie Underwood announces 2016 tour!

Much to my delight, Miss Carrie Underwood has…

…just announced her 2016 tour!

Hey guys! Long time no see!!! I’ve been on a 3 week hiatus. Hard to believe it’s been 3 weeks! No real point to it. Just busy and kinda on an eternal writers block.

It’s high time that I get back in the saddle, strap on my boots, and grab my MacBook Pro.

I know Adele’s comeback is in the works, of course I didn’t sleep through that HAHA I’m proud of her, but what I want to talk about today is the comeback of Carrie Underwood!

Carrie has had a busy and exciting life as well! She just gave birth to her firstborn, Isaiah, 8 months ago!

She took time off from music to focus on the family which I can certainly respect!

Now CU is up and raring to go on tour again with her brand new album “Storyteller” that was just released last Friday, October 23rd! I can’t wait to listen to the whole thing over and over again 😀

Miss Underwood’s music has been a staple in my life ever since she won American Idol in 2005! 10 years and counting! She’s unstoppable!

According to Carrie: “I can’t wait to play new music from Storyteller for the fans. I am so blessed to have this career and get to do to the things I do, but there is nothing like that moment when I get to step onto the stage to sing and all the fans are singing along with me.”

I’m sure that’s such an electrifying feeling for a singer to hear the crowd singing back to them!!

Before I continue, are you thinkin what I’m thinkin?! CARRIE UNDERWOOD IS NOT PERFORMING IN NASHVILLE?!

You’ve got to think that a Nashville tour date will be added in there somewhere…otherwise: THIS IS AN OUTRAGE! I mean, she lives here full-time! Her husband plays for the NASHVILLE Predators! C’mon people! Every venue is a stone’s throw away from her driveway! LOL

Just so yah know, Easton Corbin and The Swon Brothers will be her opening acts! I’ve heard great things from those guys so I’m excited to see them on tour with her…IN NASHVILLE! I’m so sorry, but this joke never gets old HAHA

Don’t grab your torch and pitch forks just yet or boycott the Nashville Predators. Carrie HAS to play Nashville too on her tour. She knows it, we know it, and perhaps the delay will be worth the wait…back to back shows, a performance on the rooftop of Music City Center…who knows?!

Congrats Carrie on your tour & I know I’ll see you soon!

Carrie Underwood will perform during CMA Fest!

The rumor mill was churning yesterday that an artist was going to be…

…added to CMA Fest 2015 & now we know it’s Carrie Underwood!

Carrie is a phenomenal artist. I’ve been following her brand for a long time and her music is stellar, in my honest opinion.

CMA Music Festival is huge and happens every year in June right here in good ol’ Nashville, Tennessee. The festival lasts for a long weekend from Thursday to Sunday and this year the days fall on June 11-14!

On Saturday night, Carrie Underwood will take the stage! That was just announced by the country music diva TODAY on Twitter!

What a fun way to announce an appearance! #Sunglasses

Now granted, it’s not that Carrie has never been allowed at CMA Fest! She actually did a duet with Miranda Lambert last year for their very first duet “Somethin’ Bad”! I looove when they perform that song together!

Here’s that amazing performance:

In February, Carrie gave birth to her very first child…a boy named Isaiah Michael, with her hockey husband, Nashville Predators player Mike Fisher!

isaiah-michael-fisherHe’s already playing hockey! 😀

Her first televised performance since the birth of her son will take place on June 10th at the CMT Music Awards! I absolutely love that show and I can’t wait to see Carrie sing again!

And did you know Carrie has a new single out?! Listen to “Little Toy Guns”:

Per usual CU song, I LOVE IT!

Congrats to Carrie for getting a full set on the main stage at LP Field for CMA Fest 2015! I really am excited for country music fans from all over the world to see her perform live!

Best of luck Carrie at CMA Fest & I can’t wait for your next album!

Carrie Underwood is the top earning American Idol of all time!

I’m not really in Nashville because I’m nuts about country music, but it’s artists like…

…Carrie Underwood that I can’t live without!

Carrie is now becoming known in 2014 as the top earning American Idol of all time! I thought that honor went to Season 1’s winner Kelly Clarkson, but as it turns out: I’m sorely mistaken!

I have a strange connection to Carrie Underwood because I remember watching her American Idol audition on TV and I said right then and there: “She’s going to win this year!” That’s the one and only time I’ve ever picked an Idol winner from the audition so I consider it to be a special connection that CU and I share 🙂

For old time’s sake, check out Carrie’s American Idol audition here:

That seems like forever ago…

…and it was! Can you believe that Carrie Underwood won American Idol 10 YEARS ago?!?! I’m absolutely floored by that! It makes me feel old! lol

Nowadays, Carrie is 31 with so many awards under her belt and not to mention: hit songs! Those hits are going to be repackaged for Carrie’s very own greatest hits album!

carriehitsHer 1st decade of music! Congratulations girl!

Greatest Hits: Decade #1 is out TODAY with a brilliant 2 disc collection of all of Carrie’s best hits that we all know and love! 🙂

It wouldn’t be right if I didn’t mention that she is having her first child (a boy) with her wonderful hockey husband: Nashville Predators Mike Fisher!

Screen Shot 2014-12-10 at 11.21.23 PMWho wants to take a bet that their son will play hockey?

If Music Row Girl had to choose her favorite Carrie Underwood hit song it would have to be…”Before He Cheats”. I know that’s cliché of me to say, but that song is a classic and is never going out of style!

Let’s celebrate “Before He Cheats”:

“I dug my key into the side of his pretty little souped-up 4-wheel drive…”

Now granted, everyone loves “Jesus, Take The Wheel” and so do I. However my favorite CU song of all time is “I Know You Won’t”. There’s a fun fact for you and if you don’t know that song…YouTube it now 😀

Congratulations Carrie on decade #1! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for you next!

Top 5 CMA Awards Moments of 2014!

It’s not every night that you get to join fans at a red carpet in downtown Nashville…

…but that’s exactly what I did last night for the CMAs!

All eyes were on Nashville last night for the 48th annual Country Music Association Awards that are filmed at Bridgestone Arena! The show is broadcast nationally on ABC and is certainly a star studded event!

After work I headed straight to the streets of downtown Nash to get myself to the crowd of fans lined up behind barricades at the red carpet! It was the second year in a row that the CMAs has been on a rainy night so everyone had their umbrellas up 🙂

We saw everyone enter the tents where the red carpet photos would be taken and the stars could enter the arena safe and sound…and dry! HAHA I’m telling you what! We saw Brantley Gilbert, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley (who rolled down the window of his Escalade and waved), Carrie Underwood, supermodel & Victoria’s Secret angel Lily Aldridge, Big Machine Records president Scott Borchetta, every single star from ABC’s “Nashville” including Connie Britton but no sign of Hayden Panettiere, and my favorite celebrity sighting of the night: Aerosmith’s frontman Steven Tyler!!!

But that’s not all folks! I also got myself a selfie with these two:

Screen Shot 2014-11-06 at 9.36.59 PM

Hunter Hayes and Darius Rucker!

So after all the excitement on the red carpet it was time for the show. I give to you my Top 5 CMA moments of 2014:

1. Brad Paisley & Carrie Underwood’s slapstick humor

Award shows are famous for having a comedic introduction by the host and I’m telling you that this year’s intro by country music superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood was HILARIOUS! I was cracking up and slapping my knee! HAHAHA 😀

The joke that really got me was when Brad Paisley explained how he talked to the President a little something like: “I just jumped over the fence, ran across the lawn, walked through the front door that was wide open…”. That cracked me up!

Then there was the joke about PPTSD “Postpartum Taylor Swift Disorder” that has hit Nashville the hardest which was hilarious because they made it seem like they were talking about the Ebola crisis!

And the other joke was when they said they refused to joke about Renee Zellweger, but followed it up with “She could be here! How would we know?! She’s a master of disguise!”

See the amazing jokes for yourself right here:

2. Steven Tyler’s impromptu sing-a-long

Aerosmith’s Steven Tyler was the first person of the night to present an award and as he walked to the microphone he stopped Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood in their tracks and told them that he thought country music was the new rock n roll! Then he asked Brad to play a G-chord and off they were singing Aerosmith’s hit song “Cryin'” as a trio! It was an intimate, Nashville moment and what a way to kick off the show!

3. Ariana Grande and Little Big Town

It was the strangest pairing of all-time, but you’ve gotta give it up to the CMA’s for getting pop sensation Ariana Grande to make an appearance and a duet with Little Big Town! The first half of the performance was Little Big Town’s hit song “Day Drinking” with red rope lights on their outfits that blinked in unison and matched those of the drum line! Then the lights changed to white and Ariana Grande joined the group to sing an awesome version of her hit song “Bang Bang”! We were missing Jessie J and Nicki Minaj, but Ariana hit so many high notes and sounded amazing!

Check out the cool new duo nobody saw coming here:

4. Carrie Underwood’s performance of “Something In The Water”

I’ve seen Carrie so many times in concert that I’ve lost count, but that just means she’s easily my favorite country music diva! 😀 Her voice is so strong it’s crazy! She’s the country Beyoncé! HAHA

Carrie performed her latest single “Something In The Water” which is about her experience with baptism. It’s a great song and shows off Carrie’s vocals like we all wished it would!

Check out her beautiful performance here:

5. Garth Brooks was in the house!

I don’t know about you, but I was raised on country music and my parents’ favorite cowboy was Garth Brooks. Seeing him for the first time in a long time last night meant so much to me. I’ve been a fan of his all my life and it’s very good to see Garth back in the spotlight in country music! He presented Luke Bryan with the entertainer of the year award and Luke admitted that he had never met Garth before so he gave him another hug 😀

All in all, I thought the CMAs were great and loaded with performances of all the best songs in country music that we’ve been hearing every day for months in Nashville!

Thank you to ABC for pulling off one heck of an award show! Until next year!

Carrie Underwood at The Grand Ole Opry

I bought myself a present for graduating college which was a ticket to the Grand Ole Opry

The gorgeous view that the artists get from center stage 😀

But this wasn’t just any old night at The Opry! It was the Opry with Carrie Underwood!

I’ve always been a huge Carrie Underwood fan since her American Idol audition when I told my parents as we were watching that I predicted that girl to win! 🙂 Well as we all know by now, I was right! Carrie was the victor of Idol’s season 4 over rocker Bo Bice!

Carrie in tears next to a celebratory Bo Bice on May 25th, 2005

Since that incredible moment, Carrie has gone on to win countless awards, sell millions of albums, and I’m hearing that her net worth is between $70-$100 million!

Carrie Underwood has done an incredible job in country music and I’ve been following her career all along the way.

So when I saw that Carrie would be making a visit to the incredible Grand Ole Opry House I had to buy myself a ticket and go see her in probably the most intimate venue I ever could at this prolonged peak in her fame! 😀

Grand Ole Opry shows always give me the warm fuzzies and are so much fun to see!

The show started out with host Jeannie Sealy who is always funny and delightful

Jeannie has been an Opry member since 1967!

After Jeannie’s intro she introduced special guest, Little Jimmy Dickens, to my surprise 🙂

Before he sang a song, Little Jimmy told the audience, “I’m not well. I went to the doctor yesterday because I’ve been havin’ trouble hearing. He looked in my ear and said ‘No wonder you can’t hear! You’ve got a suppository in your ear!'”

Then came the punchline: “Well, at least I know what I did with my hearing aid!” 😀

Little Jimmy Dickens is 93 years young!!!

After Little Jimmy came Guest Artist Francesca Battistelli who is living in Nashville too 🙂

She sang her new single (which is #1 on Christian radio now) “Write Your Story”

And she also sang a cool song called “I Am Home” which she said was written for her handsome husband on the drums 🙂 Seriously, her husband is her drummer! HAHA

She sweetly said “It’s great that we get to go around singing about Jesus.”

I must mention that the Grand Ole Opry is a live radio broadcast as well and the radio announcer lost his voice!! It was so funny as he told the audience “Just a moment please” and stepped away from the microphone to cough and gargle water. He came back to the mic and gave a chuckle as he continued to announce the sponsors for the evening.

The man who got all choked up last night 😀

Then Jeannie Sealy sang a couple songs to close out the first 30 minute set 🙂

The curtains raised up for the second half hour, with the next host: Jim Ed Brown

I saw Jim Ed at my first Opry show and he’s still got it 🙂

What’s even funnier is that I saw this man a couple weeks ago crossing the street from The Ryman with a police stopping traffic for him but I didn’t get a picture…so trust me! HAHA

Then Jim Ed invited Fiddlin’ Carson Peters Band to the stage and they were unbelievable! Carson Peters is only 10 years old and had the crowd’s undivided attention with his singing and fiddling.

That boy was so talented and really knew how to fiddle!

He was sweet as can be and even got a standing ovation from the entire audience!!!

Next up was Larry Gatlin and the Gatlin brothers who were late but still made it 🙂

Larry has been an Opry member since 1976!

Larry made a joke to Jim Ed Brown before leaving the stage and said “I wanted to correct you Jim Ed because you got something wrong when you announced me. You said that I was on a plane, but I wasn’t. I was in a plane.” HAHAHA 😀

The next 30 minute set was hosted by the incredibly talented, Connie Smith:

DSC00039Next year, Connie will celebrate 50 years as an Opry member!

Then Connie introduced Charlie Daniels and the Charlie Daniels band!

Charlie was an incredible fiddler and his band rocked!

They did the most incredible version of “Devil Went Down to Georgia” and if it hadn’t been for Carrie Underwood, I would have chosen them as the stealer of the whole show for the night! They were incredible! I’ve never seen a country band jam so hard in all my life! 😀

Then they brought out a fiddler and the Opry Square Dancers!

They were so much fun to watch and they tap danced for us too!

Then Connie Smith finished out the set with two songs, the last of which was a moving performance of the classic hymn “How Great Thou Art”

Then the clock struck 8:30 and it was time for the grand finale with Miss Underwood! I even turned to the girls sitting next to me and put my hand up to my ear (as if I had an earpiece in) and said “I’m just now getting word, Carrie Underwood is in the building! SHE’S IN THE BUILDING!” 😀

To start the set off, was the classic country band: Riders in the Sky

They have been Opry members since 1982

After one song, the lead singer told us, “I’m going to not keep y’all waiting any longer, because I’m excited to see her too…here’s Carrie Underwood!”

Carrie came out in a cute floral dress with light blue high heels with a dark blue toe!

Carrie got to sing 3 songs which is big because all other acts only sing 2!!!

First up was “Wasted” complete with the fiddle & her vocals soared like usual!

Then there was a tear-jerking performance of “Temporary Home”

And allow me to take a moment to say that I am so floored by how respectful the audiences are in Nashville! You could hear a pin drop when Carrie sang about a man laying on his death bed, looking up and saying “I can see God’s face”. It makes the moment all much more beautiful with the crowd’s respectful quietness. #ThankYouNashville

To close out her set, Carrie sang one of my favorites: “Blown Away”

Unbelievable vocals! Crystal clear & flawless #CarrieUnderwood

Not to be corny, but Carrie Underwood definitely blew me away yet again! I’ve seen her so many times in concert and last night was another exciting time seeing one of the best singers on the planet right now! 😀

There were 2 more songs by Riders in the Sky, yet I was struggling to pay attention to the first song after seeing Carrie Underwood signing autographs on the side of the stage to those lucky few backstage audience members! #Sigh

I will meet her one day though! HAHA I know it’s going to happen for sure!!!

Riders in the Sky finished the show with “Happy Trails” and I exited the Opry thinking about how special of a night I just had.

Miranda Lambert thought Carrie Underwood hated her!

PonoPlayer blew up yesterday as did my blog views with an all-time best of 342 in a 24 hour period, but I couldn’t help but notice a little article about Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood.

Country songtress Miranda was quoted as saying that she thought her duet with Carrie was “such a big deal”.

At first my thoughts were: “Wait! They had a duet?!” Then I thought “How can it be such a big deal?!”

Everyone knows everyone in country music and a good 90% of country artists live in Nashville!

nashvilleskyline2Well my fears are at bay now because the song will not be released for months when Miranda releases her fifth album Platinum! 😀

Carrie is set to sing on the song Something Bad and it’s obvious that Miranda is overly grateful that she agreed to do so.

Carrie just turned 31 this Monday, March 10th along with our buddy Robin Thicke!!!

1966859_739790132707879_586860937_nHappy Belated Birthday Carrie!!!

Mrs. Blake Shelton has promised us that Platinum will be full of humor, nostalgia, and femininity, which is great because that’s the Miranda that everyone knows and loves!

Lambert admitted that her collaboration with Carrie was nerve-racking!!! I think that’s actually cute and quite flattering for Underwood to hear! I can only imagine how much Carrie has blushed since yesterday! 😀

Now I know that I’m right about Nashville because it was reported that Miranda asked Carrie, whom I like to call the country Beyoncé, to collaborate on a song via a “long, babbling email”!

So it’s obvious to us that they have to be friends or at least business friends!

If you Google search “Miranda Lambert Carrie Underwood feud” there is nothing even close to that on the front page so I believe there isn’t one! 😀

Miranda did say however that she is not in competition with Taylor Swift in order to stop rumor mills of a possible feud that was questioned about just a month ago!

In her interview with Yahoo Music, Miranda said and I quote: “Singing with Carrie Underwood is very, very intimidating — I mean, I’ll be honest…She is an amazing vocalist. I’m a big fan of hers, and asking her to do this was nerve-racking.”

Then she goes on to explain her email request to country Beyoncé: “I sent her an email…a long, blabbing email about if she wanted to sing on the record, it could be cool, but maybe she didn’t want to, and if she liked the song, but she didn’t have to like the song…when I sent it, I thought, ‘This sounds ridiculous!’”

I think it’s hilarious that she was nervous and babbling in her email! It just shows you that she’s human and literally a superfan of Carrie Underwood. I mean aren’t we all??? I’ve seen Carrie 3 times in concert already and enjoyed every last minute of it 😀 She’s phenomenal in every way!

Miranda said this about her and Carrie’s careers, “We’re really rocking in country music and we’re coming together as a force … I’m ready to rock and singing with Carrie really pushes me.”

I couldn’t agree more! I mean they both made the Billboard Top 40 Money Makers list that I reported about on Tuesday so we know they’re doing it all right! 😀

As we all know Miss Swift took the Top prize, but Miranda & Carrie are still awesome!

taylor-swift-money-makers-650Miranda concluded the interview by saying, “It’s been too long since two girls in our genre have come together like that, especially on a song that’s kind of in your face.”

That song wont be “in your face” until June 3rd when Platinum is released 😦

but while we’re waiting…

We should see how they’ve sang together in the past:
