Dixie Chicks announce 2016 US tour!

Can you even believe it?! Today I’ve learned that…

…the Dixie Chicks are going on a US tour!

Waking up to this news is like the absolute sign that this week is going to be great! Am I right or am I right?!

The Dixie Chicks are one of my favorite bands of all-time and next year, not only are they going on a world tour (like we already knew), they are also taking a trip to see us right here in the good ol’ U S of A!

The official announcement came on their Facebook page around 1:30 in the morning here and 11:30 if you live in California! HAHA

They posted a video with a tour announcement that US dates have been added…which include Bridgestone Arena in Nashville and a show at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida…so basically me AND my extended family get to go 😀

Can’t thank them enough!

I’m sure there are more Google searches for “MMXVI” than any day of the year, because of the name of their tour. It means 2016 in roman numerals which is pretty cool if you ask me! It reminds me of the Super Bowl! HAHA

There is no news of a new album as of yet, but just the fact that the Chicks are going on a proper tour of the US and the world is incredibly promising! Stay tuned for a MMXVI album announcement…I think!

After all, they haven’t released a new album since 2006, so it’s about time they put pen to paper and came up with a DCX album…the first in 10 years!

The Dixie Chicks were my first concert ever! I didn’t know 1 song, but I left there as a superfan! They are so talented and their harmonies are out of this world!

Congrats to the Dixie Chicks! I can’t wait to see you!

Dixie Chicks are back in 2016!

Howdy y’all! I just wanted to make sure you were aware that…

…the Dixie Chicks are reuniting in 2016!

Sorry guys that I haven’t written in 12 days! I know! It’s horrid! HAHA I’ve just been busy dizzy and my laptop charger for my MacBook got so frayed that it no longer could charge my computer. I’ve got the charger back and I’m looking forward to getting my mojo back as well.

Even as I’ve read through music news on my phone over the past 2 weeks, I’ve been unimpressed with the lack of excitement in the press. Yeah you’ve had a special guest every night at Taylor Swift’s 1989 World Tour, but what about the reunions, the new albums, and the new tours?!

Well, the Dixie Chicks have heard my cry because they just announced that they will be reuniting next year for their first full tour since 2006! By the time they get on the road next year, this will be their first tour in…

G2osYhe10 YEARS!

A decade is a long time to not be together. I mean if you think about it, how often do you think you could breakup with someone and then 10 years from now give it another go? But no matter the odds, I’m just happy that they FINALLY decided to get back together.

Now I don’t really know the full extent of their reunion so far, but the last full album they recorded together as a band happened in 2006 as well. Taking The Long Way was one of the best albums I’ve ever had the pleasure of listening to! It’s spectacular!

I’ve always had a special place in my musical heart for the Chicks because their concert was the first concert I ever attended when I was 12 years old! My cousin had extra tickets and we were front row!

You knew I would have been in the front row, didn’t you?! 😀

I didn’t know 1 song, 1 album, or 1 name of the group members before I went to the show and I walked away a super fan! They were flawless and made it look effortless. Each of the three girls played instruments and sang which was impressive to me. They weren’t a gimmick or being marketed for their good looks. They had the most exquisite harmonies when they sang and they had raw talent!

2003 was the most defining year for the band when they were black-balled by Americans because their lead singer, Natalie Maines, said to the audience at their London concert: “We don’t want this war, this violence, and we’re ashamed that the President of the United States is from Texas.”

Dixie Chicks CD’s were thrown away, run over by tractors, and burnt! I’m not even kiddin’ yah! It was a crazy time when we realized that freedom of speech wasn’t being recognized or upheld.

Take a look at their documentary for more…

Shut Up & Sing!

I’m pretty excited for this reunion shindig and I can’t for what’s next! I have to tell you that only a tour of Europe is in the works which is a big bummer to me, but I’m hopeful that even if a new album isn’t released that a US tour should follow! Those dates run from April 16th to May 4th so I think there’s hope that a summer tour in the states should happen! I’m crossing my fingers, that’s for sure!

Congrats to the Chicks & don’t give up on a US leg of your 2016 tour! See yah soon!
