If you watched Super Bowl XLVI back in 2012 and also watched the famous Super Bowl halftime show, you would have seen headliner Madonna and special guests CeeLo Green, LMFAO (Where? Oh Where have those Sexy and I Know It guys disappeared to?!), Nicki Minaj, and M.I.A.

I can’t include a motion picture AKA “gif” of M.I.A because the only one is offensive lol

With 114 million viewers, it’s the most-watched Super Bowl halftime show EVER!

Most watched is one thing, but I bet you Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake’s show in 2004 is the most re-watched Super Bowl halftime show of ALL-TIME!

No need to explain why 😉

She looked so fierce right before the most famous “wardrobe malfunction” occurred.

So the culprit of this article is M.I.A who got in trouble for “shooting the bird” AKA sticking up her middle finger during her appearance on Madonna’s Super Bowl Halftime Show!

No one and I mean NO ONE saw it coming. There was not a big enough delay in the Live broadcast to put a bird on her finger like I took the time to do for you! 😦

So if you Google Image search “M.I.A shoots the bird”, you will see the actual bird.

I don’t want to re-offend anybody here so I think the Twitter-lookalike bird will have to do

I’m not sure what was more surprising, a breast complete with a nipple shield being exposed or someone’s middle finger.

Whether or not the NFL expected either of those things to happen on Live TV isn’t the problem. The main issue is that they did not provide censorship! 😦

It is reported that Janet Jackson’s “wardrobe malfunction” created a five-second delay for future Super Bowl Halftime shows!

That’s a great idea everyone at the NFL, but since Janet Jackson’s show in 2004, we had no need for a delay until Madonna’s show in 2012!

I must say that I never knew Prince performed the Halftime show! That is definitely a video I will watch this week! I can’t believe I missed that! 😦

On the other hand, it took 7 years for the Justin Timberlake curse to be broken when The Black Eyed Peas were the first Pop act to make it on the Halftime show stage since Justin and Janet in 2004.

7 years is a long time guys and I’m sure Janet Jackson’s indecent exposure is why the NFL went with classic old-timers that wont do crazy things that need censorship.

Just so you know, The Supreme Court decided back in 2012 not to consider reinstating the government’s $550,000 fine on CBS for Janet’s nip-slip so in fact they escaped any fines for it! What a shame!!!

Back to the case at hand, M.I.A:

It turns out that the rapper is being sued for a whopping 16.6 MILLION DOLLARS in a lawsuit coming against her by none other than the National Football League!

That’s an unbelievable amount to sue her for! Am I right?! 

M.I.A, a 38 year old rapper raised in Sri Lanka, is reportedly being sued for $15.1 million in restitution in addition to the $1.5 million that the NFL is demanding for breach of contract!

Restitution = recompense for injury or loss

So the NFL is citing injury from M.I.A’s middle finger stunt and basically wants her to cough up the damages AKA the $16.6 MILLION!

The NFL is claiming that the extra $15.1 million is to cover “the alleged value of public exposure she received by appearing for an approximately two minute segment during Madonna’s performance.” That little figure is based on what advertisers would have paid for ads during this 2 minute time slot!!!

That’s pretty harsh don’t you think? and I’m not so sure M.I.A has that amount of cash left from her one massive hit song Paper Planes 😦

M.I.A’s spokesperson was stated as saying that the claims made by the NFL “lack any basis in law, fact, or logic.”

Not so sure about the law part, but the amount of damages is way off for sure…in the sense that M.I.A most likely can’t pay $16.6 million off.

M.I.A uploaded a video of herself in the past discussing the incident in which she said a colorful statement that won’t be repeated here about the NFL and she claimed that there were more offensive images during the Super Bowl than her flicking her middle finger at the world.

Now that is something I highly doubt!

Considering the middle finger stands for “go to Hell”, I think it’s safe to say that you won the award for most offensive imagery of the 2012 Super Bowl, M.I.A!

Everyone is saying that it’s a joke, but guys…I think she’s serious!

Her Madgesty has yet to respond publicly about the matter and to be honest with you…

I don’t think she ever will!

M.I.A also had this to say about the NFL, “They want me on my knees and say sorry so they can slap me on my wrists. And basically say it’s okay for me to promote being sexually exploited as a female than to display female empowerment through being punk rock. That is what it boils down to, and I’m being sued for it.”

If you have to publicly flick people off in order to be a punk rocker than I’ll just never be one. I’m sorry M.I.A, but I think your perspective of what the NFL is suing you for is entirely warped!

Let me just say that as a music business professional whether you are on the business side or the creative side of the coin…you don’t do this.

I think it is tacky, distasteful, and bad that M.I.A took a screenshot of her email from the NFL and tweeted it to us. No one needs to see that but you and your lawyer. End of story.

Beyond this lawsuit, I felt bad for M.I.A in the beginning, yet since her behavior is so despicable, I’m feeling less and less sympathetic towards her.

My advice is to keep communicating with the NFL with a strong lawyer by your side and eventually you will come to a settlement less than $16.6 million.

Best of luck to you M.I.A!

I suggest you put your middle finger down, stop Tweeting, and start settling the damages that you caused back in 2012 when you stole Madonna’s thunder at the Super Bowl.

You might want to give Madonna a call to apologize to her too!

Prince makes me cry tears of joy

I’m going to dedicate the next few minutes to the artist formerly known as Prince

What I can say about Prince is that I always new of him, but I never really knew him until last semester when I decided to rent his Purple Rain album from my university’s library.

Well I was absolutely sold on him after listening to the whole thing haha I thought he was fun, “poppy” (a sound associated with pop music), zany, eccentric, and mesmerizing.

He’s not an incredible vocalist such as the likes of Elvis Presley or Andrea Bocelli, but he has his own style and it suits his music very well.

The title track of that album AKA a little song known as Purple Rain…absolutely amazed me and still does to this day!

I mean c’mon people! The song in its original form is 8 minutes and 43 seconds long! I wont bother mentioning the radio version’s length because whenever I want to listen to Purple Rain there is only one version lol 😀

The song is a masterpiece in its instrumentation and its overall feel! I get chills every time that I listen to it!

So Prince to me is a legend. He carries himself as one and the best thing about him to me is his persona…

Prince is secretive, mysterious, and alluring. Everything you would hope that an artist would be. The mystery about who he is…both publicly and personally is so fascinating to me and to be honest with you I would jump at any chance to see him perform.

#fangirl or for those of you who aren’t savvy on fangirling…that’s right. Fangirl has become a verb. Fangirl (verb): the art of expressing extreme excitement for a celebrity that you love.

I know one thing that would have made me pull a fangirling fest…Prince’s “The Breakfast Experience Pajama Dance Party” last October!

The party started off at 2 a.m. at Prince’s Minnesota home and required partygoers to “dress 2 impress — keep it classy!” The show costs a suggested donation of $50!!! OMGOMGOMG 😀

I’ve never heard of a celebrity inviting fans to their house for a sleepover so Prince ranks as the number one artist concerned about letting his fans access him on my list!

I can only imagine the runway walks that happened that night

Well the reason that I’m talking about Prince today is because my favorite talk show The Wendy Williams Show has been talking about him for the past 2 days so I had to let you know a few things I heard about the ever mysterious man they compare to the color purple, doves, and clouds of magic…

That’s my girl Wendy ^^^ haha

So Wendy had this to say about Prince…she had never met him before until she got a call late on Sunday night after the Super Bowl and Prince’s debut guest spot on Fox’s hit show New Girl.

So Wendy was asked to come to “a club” to meet Prince because he wanted to meet her!!! (He’s a big fan of her show!!!) I mean who could say no! 😀 So she got dressed and went on her merry way…

Prince arrived and gave Wendy a hug instead of a handshake! Who knew he was a hugger!!! lol I love it because Prince has so much mystery to him that any little detail you find out is like a piece of gold haha

She asked him for a picture and he said “No picture darling, but you can hang out with me.” I can’t say that I would mind haha Prince is high-class company!

She said that Prince smelled of lavender which is hilarious since that is a shade of purple! 😀 And altogether it seems like Prince was a wonderful, down-to-earth guy with a good heart!

Well in today’s news, I read on Billboard he flew to London on Tuesday in support of his forthcoming album “Plectrum Electrum,” recorded with all-female trio 3RDEYEGIRL.

He didn’t play Wembley or the O2…

He played a suburban living room to a dozen people!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OMG is right, Rihanna!

This wasn’t just any home people…it was the East London home of British soul singer Lianne La Havas!!! I discovered her last year and fell in love with her music and her incredible sound 😀

She apparently met Prince last year while she was touring in the US. They bonded over music and their love of tea! haha How adorable is that???

In Lianne’s living room in front of a fireplace, the band played two acoustic tracks including their newest single “PretzelBodyLogic.”

With that song title…I really don’t know how you could go wrong! HAHA

Of the band’s drummer, Hanna Ford…Prince said “she is an incredible teacher in all the genres – rock, punk…and ping pong.”

The man loves ping pong too! OMG You just can’t get any better than Prince right now!

I imagine his ping pong table to look something like that one ^^^

Prince plans on playing in London with his new band until people get tired of hearing them haha He neither confirmed or denied whether they will be playing Glastonbury Festival so I’m excited for that possibility 😀

I must head off to London now but before I go…

Let me tell you that the 55 year old mastermind Prince was not aware when they told him that 2014 marks the 30 year anniversary of his album Purple Rain…

His comment: “I don’t look back.”

Bruno Mars wasn’t that bad!

Bruno Mars was the star of last night’s Super Bowl half-time show and he had a lot to live up to because of Beyoncé’s stellar performance last year…

Given the time that he had and the audience of over 100 million…he did an incredible job!!!

It all started with Bruno doing a cool drum solo

Then Mr. Mars went straight into his radio smash “Locked Out of Heaven”…a song that will make you blush if you really listen to the lyrics lol

Then he had some incredible footwork…

And one heck of a split!

Then there was the most awkward Red Hot Chili Peppers collaboration…

And the lead singer of RHCP came out with his shirt off but I’m really not surprised haha

Those guys are rockers!

And then there was the awesome time that they jumped lol

Then we had a little snippet of “Treasure” and then everyone’s favorite “Just The Way You Are”

And then the fireworks lit up all of New York City

Bruno Mars did a wonderful job! He was entertaining and fun!

I know not many people can forget how fabulous Beyoncé was last year, but I have to give Bruno props!!!

And let’s not forget the other highlight from the game…the Seattle Seahawks 😀
